An event I'm heavily involved in is a fund-raiser disc golf tournament, which is now in its sixth year. This tourney raises money for the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, which is the only no-kill shelter in the area. This is an ace race, which means all the holes are shortened up big time. Lots of drinking, long day of throwing and everybody always has a great time.
This year, the top prize is a 2009 Honda Metropolitan (red, 50cc) courtesy of Fun Mart Cycle Center. Yeah, I know ... it's modern and it's plastic, but we're pretty excited about the value of the prize this year.
So, if you know any disc golfers, can you point them to
www.discnfordogs.com? As far as we know, this ace race has the richest payout in the U.S. for a disc golf ace race.
